What to Expect
at an Axiom Quartet concert
The primary goal of an Axiom Quartet concert is to be fun, enjoyable, and memorable!
Parking: Parking is free on any of the streets surrounding the university. In addition to street parking, there is also a parking garage located on the corner of Graustark and Alabama for $5.
Attire: First and foremost, we want you to be comfortable in whatever you wear. Most people wear business casual attire, though sometime people are more dressy or less dressy depending on their style preferences.
Before the concert: Our concerts are not ticketed and seats are first come, first served. Our audience usually comes around 30 minutes prior to the concert. Axiom also hangs out with our audience before the concert! Just grab a program and say hi to whoever is sitting at our greeting table. We also have fun merchandise if you want to get your Axiom Swag on!
Ticketing/pricing: Our events at the University of St. Thomas are free and open to the public, no ticket is needed. We will have a donation bowl with a suggested donation of $25 per person. However, feel free to give less if you are aren’t able to give that much and perhaps give more to pay it forward to those who cannot give as much. We want everyone to attend our concerts and don’t want the financial burden of a ticket to keep anyone from hearing us perform.
During the concert: We like to talk about the music we are about to perform. Expect about 5-10 minute introductions of the music you are about to hear. We generally present multi-movement works. While it is traditional to hold applause until the end of the piece, if you feel like clapping in between movements, go right ahead!
Intermission: There is a 15 minute intermission for all of our concerts. The ladies' restroom is located just outside of Cullen Hall and the gentlemen’s restroom is upstairs.
After the concert: There will be finger food and beverages served in an after-concert reception. Come say hi and enjoy yourself! Please also consider giving us a donation to help us cover the cost of this social gathering.
